2nd Annual ACADA Industry Excellence Recognition Awards (AIERA)

Brian Johnston, Chair, Atlantic Canada Aerospace and Defence Association presented awards to PAL AEROSPACE (NL), DEW ENGINEERING and DEVELOPMENT (NB) and KOGNITIV SPARK (NB) at the 2nd annual ACADA Dinner held October 3rd, 2018 at the Halifax Convention Centre.

These Atlantic Canadian Small to Medium enterprise (SMEs) recipients were celebrated for their success and excellence in the aerospace, defence and security industries in three distinct categories – Innovation Leader – PAL Aerospace, Business Development Distinction – DEW Engineering and Development and Most-Promising Start-up or Business Diversification – Kognitiv Spark.

“The ACADA Team, our members and partners extend warm congratulations and its appreciation to the 2018 ACADA Industry Excellence Recognition Award recipients. The diversity and capacity of the industry capabilities within the region is reflected by these outstanding companies;

·         PAL Aerospace’s development of its innovative Force Multiplier (FMX) aircraft - an On-Demand Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) Special Mission Platform, will accelerate growth and new global opportunities. PAL had to engineer and integrate the various on-board systems through significant research and development, with the FMX platform positioned for innovation and advanced product development;

·         DEW, the largest manufacturer of ceramic composite armour for vehicles in North American, is celebrating its 40th Anniversary this year. Having broadened its focus on land equipment into the aviation sector, the company achieved AS9100C certification and won its first aviation component contract in 2017. Its long-standing tradition of working with OEM’s continues; and

·         Kognitiv Spark’s RemoteSpark is a mixed reality communication platform which allows clients to bring offsite experts to remote field workers, without travel or added downtime. This product using mixed and augmented reality launched in 2017 is poised to revolutionize task support as we know it.
