Quality Control Inspector:

 

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Control Inspector is responsible for inspecting and verifying materials, components, and finished products to ensure conformance with customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements for military and defence applications.

 

Responsibilities/Duties:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Conduct quality testing and analysis of raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products to ensure compliance with corporate and ISO standards
  • Coordinate with Production and Project Managers to ensure quality requirements are met
  • Seek independent interpretation and guidance when required for process-related quality matters
  • Maintain accurate and complete quality records
  • Collaborate with the team to complete inspections accurately and on time
  • Recommend improvements to quality-related processes and controls
  • Perform inspections on DEW products as required
  • Initiate and follow up on actions to prevent non-conformities related to products, services, processes, and the quality system

  • Identify and document issues related to products, services, processes, and the quality system

  • Verify the effectiveness of corrective actions taken to resolve quality issues

  • Control non-conforming product until the non-conformance is resolved

General Requirements:

  • Travel as required
  • Comply with all environmental, health and safety requirements and follow the environmental and quality management systems

Qualifications:

  • 5 years previous experience as a Quality Inspector
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of welding and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to read and interpret GD&T requirements and manufacturing drawings
  • Experience with CMM programming and dimensional inspection methods

  • Knowledge of calibration requirements and control of measuring and test equipment

  • ISO 9001 internal auditing experience is considered an asset
